  1. The 8th generation Corvette has a front trunk, sometimes referred to as a frunk.

    Despite the name change the frunk is still required to have an internal release mechanism in case your kid climbs into the frunk and gets themselves locked inside.

    The Corvette does have a release mechanism but it's an electric button instead of a physical latch. And an auditor found that the button stops working once the car enters "sleep" mode which is roughly 10 minutes after the engine is shut off.…

  2. The electronic power steering may suddenly stop working in over 27,000 Cadillacs, Corvettes, and Camaros.

    An internal GM investigation found inconsistencies with the circuit boards supplied by Bosch. You’ll still be able to steer, but turning gets a heck of a lot harder without power assistance. GM will replace the entire power steering gear assemblies in a recall expected to begin this month.

  3. Last month GM announced an airbag recall affecting 4 million vehicles.

    Software errors have been found to disable the front airbags and seatbelt pretensions after "certain driving conditions." GM won't say what those conditions are, but they did say there’s been at least one death related to the bug.

    GM opened an investigation into the issue in June and contacted Delphi, the supplier of the sensing and diagnostic module. The automaker gathered additional electronic data recorder records from other incidents where the same crash symptoms occurred.

    After three days of road tests in September 2016, GM ordered the recall. The affected GMC vehicles include the Sierra lineup as well as the Yukon.
